PURPOSE:To facilitate the operation of steering lock and prevent the steering lock from accidental locking by permitting a lug for blocking the pivoting of a stopper ring to engage a stopper for blocking the stopper ring from pivoting to the locking position in returning and pivoting a key and to be disengaged from the stopper by a releasing member. CONSTITUTION:When a key is turned to return pivotably a cylinder inner 4 toward the locking position, an end of a recess 4a of said inner 4 engages a lug 11b of a stopper ring 11 so that a stopper ring 11 is pivoted together with the inner 4. On the way a lug 11c for blocking the pivoting of the stopper ring 11 engages a stopper 3a of a cylinder outer 3 to stop the further pivotal return of the inner 4 (see the drawing). When the operating portion 12b of the releasing member 12 is depressed under such a condition, the stopper ring 11 is moved axially of a cylinder lock by a inclined portion of an end of said member 12 to disengage said lug 11c from the stopper 3a. Thus, the inner 4 can be pivoted to the locking position. |
