PURPOSE:To combine inner and outer cans in one body and reduce the number of parts by heating, melting, and sticking acid-resistant resin grains having a grain size of 1mm or more on the inner wall of a metal can to form a battery jar of a closed cylindrical lead storage battery. CONSTITUTION:Polyethylene grains having a grain size of 1mm or more are inserted, heated, melted, and stuck on the inner wall of a pre-heated, nickel- plated steel can, which is again heated and coated with polyethylene as a pinhole-less film to form a battery jar 6. Then, a positive electrode plate 1, a negative electrode plate 2, a separator 3, a safety valve 5, etc. are incorpo rated in it to form a closed cylindrical lead storage battery. Accordingly, the number of parts is reduced and assembly is simplified by combining inner and outer cans into the battery jar 6, and the oxygen absorbing capability of the negative electrode plate 2 is improved and the battery performance can be improved by providing ruggedness on the resin film of the inner wall of the battery jar 6. |
