PURPOSE:To permit the proper deceleration by controlling a brake, engine, and a speed change gear according to the magnitude of the difference between the actual deceleration speed and a standard deceleration speed on deceleration, in a between-car distance controller. CONSTITUTION:A rader sensor 61 transmits electromagnetic waves in front of a car under the control of a control unit 49, and receives the reflected waves and supplies them into the control unit 49, and the distance to a car ahead is calculated. The trailing traveling is carried-out, keeping a safe between-car distance, by accelerating or decelerating the car speed according to the variation of the between-car distance. In deceleration, at least one among the brake power of a brake, engine output, and the gear ratio of a speed change gear is controlled by a brake-part control means 7 through a brake-part instruction means 5 according to the magnitude of the speed difference obtained by a deceleration-speed output means 1 for obtaining the deceleration speed and a standard deceleration-speed output means 3 for outputting the standard deceleration-speed previously set. |
