PURPOSE:To make possible the erasure of all tracks and the erasure with the highest efficiency by specifying the deviation of an erasing head gap with respect to a recording and playback head gap and the min. width and max. width of the track width of the erasing head. CONSTITUTION:The deviation Z of the center 3 of the erasing head gap with respect to the center 2 of the recording and playback head, the min. track width Tmin and max. track width Tmax of the erasing head are determined from calculation. The erasing head 3 is consequently required to be attached in such a manner that the gap center deviates by Z toward the inside circumferential side of the disk with respect to the recording and playback head 2 and the track width of the erasing head is required to be so formed that said track width is larger than Tmin and smaller than Tmax. The erasure of all the tracks and the most efficient erasure are made possible without erasing the signals of the adjacent tracks with the composite magnetic head having the erasing head formed in the above-mentioned manner. |
