PURPOSE:To attain easily and accurately azimuth adjustment by moving a holder along a straight line which passes through the center of rotation of a rotating body by eliminating a position shift which is made during the azimuth adjustment between a tape guide and a magnetic tape for inspection. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic tape 13 for inspection which is little bit narrower in width than a magnetic tape 7 in use, and run in a direction A, and a gap line alpha is set at right angles to the tape traveling direction while looking at the playback output of a magnetic head 9 for sound recording. The rotating body 2 and holder 6 are rotated by a fine angle theta according to the clamping quantity of an adjusting screw 4 and azimuth deviation in the tape traveling direction (arrow A) is adjusted. The tape guide 8 at a distance apart from the center P of rotation is displaced considerably upward and downward and the tape guide 8 and magnetic tape 13 for inspection shifts in center position upward and downward by DELTAx. This position shift is eliminated by moving the holder to and away from the rotating body, so the azimuth adjustment is made easily and accurately. |
