PURPOSE:To perform smooth editing operation without increasing tape consumption since a rerecorded signal is a PCM audio signal by performing rerecording by a rotary head after a CTL signal is recorded on a CTL track. CONSTITUTION:The CTL head records CTL pulses successively with a head gap 8. When there is an azimuth angle thetaCV, a video head gap 7 is written over it. When a PCM signal reaching the CTL head during reproduction has azimuth loss because of the azimuth angle thetaCV and the CTL signal is not affected; and the CTL signal mixed with the PCM signal is removed by DC reproduction, etc., and an overwriting part 9 is utilized effectively to eliminate the need for a guard space 2 for the CTL track. Consequently, when an audio signal is recorded on PCM basis, the CTL track is utilized effectively and there is no problem as to tracking and compatibility, so that cross-fade data is recorded on the CTL track. |
