PURPOSE:To prevent irregular fuel supply and stabilize combustion by supplying fuel liquid collected at the bottom of a scavenging passage to a cylinder by providing a ventilation hole at the bottom of the scavenging passage of a horizontal type 2-cycle engine. CONSTITUTION:In a 2-cycle engine in which center lines of two cylinders 7, 8 are laid, mixture air from a carburetor 20 is supplied to crank rooms 5, 6 through a lead valve 22 at the scavenging and compression strokes of pistons 13, 14 and scavenged from scavenging passages 25 into cylinders at the scaveng ing stroke by compression of the crank rooms at the time of expansion of the pistons 13, 14. Ventilation passages 26 communicating to the crank rooms 5, 6 of adjacent cylinders whose phase are shifted by 180 deg. via check valves 27 are provided on the bottom 25c of each scavenging passage 25. At the time of scavenging stroke of each cylinder, the other cylinder is at the expansion stroke and the crank room is compressed and compressed mixture air is injected from an opening 26a, and fuel liquid collected at the bottom is supplied to the cylinder. |
