PURPOSE:To enable the expression of the medium contrast with variable gradation, by positioning colorless transparent ink emitting nozzles at both sides of a scanning direction so as to interpose color ink emitting nozzles therebetween and enabling the emission of colorless transparent ink even at the time of recording in both directions. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle head 4, wherein nozzles T1, T2 each for emitting colorless transparent ink are added to four nozzles for respectively emitting inks Y, M, C, Bk, is moved on the straight line almost parallel to the surface to be recorded of recording paper 5. The orifice diameter of each nozzle for emitting the colorless transparent ink is made smaller than that of each nozzle for emitting color ink to reduce the amount of ink. |
