PURPOSE:To manufacture a surface treated steel sheet having high corrosion resistance at a low cost by coating the surface of a steel sheet with Ni to a specified thickness, forming Cr plating of a specified thickness, and heat treating the Ni-Cr coated steel sheet at a specified temp. in a nonoxidizing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:A commercially available carbon steel sheet is pickled and activated, and the surface of the steel sheet is coated with Ni to 2-10mum thickness by electrodeposition in a Watts bath. Cu plating of 2-10mum thickness is then formed in a Sargent bath, and the Ni-Cr coated steel sheet is heat treated at 800-1,200 deg.C in a nonoxidizing atmosphere. |
