PURPOSE:To attain measurement of the instruction frequencies in a short time by using a counter part for executing frequency of instructions at an instruction decoding part within a CPU to accumulate the instruction executing frequencies for each type of instructions when a program is read out of a main memory. CONSTITUTION:A CPU4 extracts an instruction which should be executed after a program 9 stored in a main memory 8 and discriminates the type of the instruction through an instruction decoding part 5. The part 5 sends the result of discrimination to an instruction executing part 6. Thus the instruction is executed. Then the part 5 transmits the type of the instruction to an instruction executing frequency counter part 7. Thus the executing frequencies are accumulated for each type of instructions. The accumulated contents of the part 7 can be read out by a program after the counting process is through. This is effective to the analysis of the dynamic characteristics of a program. |
