The invention relates to a device intended to dig a trench and lay a cable therein. Such a device 1 consists of a ploughshare 2 and of a cable-guide 3. The whole assembly is attached at the end of the arm of a hydraulic shovel, via an upper plate 12, equipped with attaching lugs 13, 13', 14, 14' and solidly fixed in an orientable manner to a lower plate 10 carrying the ploughshare 2. The combined action of the shovel turret and of the orientable plate 12 makes it possible to use the ploughshare 2 along any path dictated by the configuration of the site. The invention applies to the laying of a cable both over large distances and in relatively inaccessible areas. <IMAGE>
