Elastic fastening device for a railway rail of the type comprising a sleeper screw or a bolt intended to be screwed into the sleeper which supports the rail and a connection piece, interacting with the lower flange of the rail, inserted between the sleeper and the sleeper screw or the bolt, the assembly furthermore comprising means for providing the fixing with some elasticity. The connection piece consists of a flat metal disc 10, provided with a circular median hole 11, through which the sleeper screw or the bolt 5, 16 passes, the disc 10 extending substantially over the whole width of the end flat 8 of a lower flange 7 of the rail 6, a double-coil washer 12 made of spring steel being inserted between the head 18 of the bolt or of the sleeper screw 5 and the upper face of the disc 10. <IMAGE>
