PURPOSE:To improve a quality of printing which is carried out through overlapping use of plural number of heat transfer recording media by supplementing printing characteristics at least one of which thermal characteristics are different from others. CONSTITUTION:A printer has a structure in which a printing paper 7 is set over a platen 6, and heat transfer recording media 8-1-8-4 pass between a thermal head 4 and a revolving platen 6 one after another. The colors or printing densities of heat transfer inks of plural number of heat transfer media are different from each other, while a base layer thickness, melting point or viscosity of a heat transfer ink 11 of at least one kind is made to be different from others; or thickness, material, density or etc. of a base layer 12 of heat transfer recording medium are made to be different from others, and printing is repeatedly performed on the same printing paper, using the above stated heat transfer recording media of different thermal characteristics one after another. In the printer in which plural number of heat transfer recording media are used successively, the thermal characteristics are appropriately different from one another, regardless of partial overlapping of inks, and a satisfactory printing is obtained and a steady and high quality printing may be performed. |
