The invention relates to a beverage container which may be used in space. The container comprises a rigid outer casing 12 into which is placed a chamber 14 intended to contain the beverage and which dilates upon introduction of the fluid and then flattens to a negligible volume on dispensing of the beverage; the chamber may be an elastic bag 14, a flexible bag surrounded by a compressible gas, a container of the concertina type or, alternatively, a tube comprising a tail part which can be rolled up on itself to a negligible volume through the effect of the elastic properties of the material from which it is formed.
