A pivoted mounting on a traversing table can draw a curved mandrel coaxially through a rotating ring which is dispensing resin impregnated filaments or tapes. The relative movements of the pivot bar and the table are derived from a common motor. Pref. the same motor drives the winding ring. By changing the pivot arm and the traverse transmission cams various profiles may be moved through the focus of the winding ring.
