PURPOSE:To obtain stable recording and high grade image quality, by enlarging the shape of an air emitting orifice in the outflow direction of an air stream. CONSTITUTION:The air emitting orifice 1 formed to an air nozzle plate 2 has a truncated cone shape opened in the emitting direction of air. In this structure, even if an air emitting direction changes a little by some factor such as the non-uniformity of an air layer 7, a region, where the flow speed of air is zero, is formed to the A-part of the edge part of the air emitting orifice 1. Therefore, even if the positional shift is generated between the air emitting orifice 1 and an ink emitting orifice 4 and the flight direction of ink liquid droplets 14 changes, said ink liquid droplets 14 fly in an air stream and, therefore, do not fly out to the A-part region where the flow speed of air is zero so far as extremely large energy does not act on the ink liquid droplets 14. As a result, the ink liquid droplets 14 are prevented from impinging to the inner wall of the air emitting orifice 1 and stable recording is enabled. |
