PURPOSE:To easily obtain a polychromatic image through single-time exposure by exposing a photosensitive body equipped with filters which transmit visible light in a short-wavelength, an intermediate-wavelength, and the entire wavelength range to an image, executing an entire-surface exposure using light passed through only one kind of filter and a development, and repeating this process for other filters. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body consists of a conductive base 1, photoconductive layer 2, and a transparent insulating layer 3 including the filters which transmit visible light in the long-wavelength range (R), intermediate-wavelength ragne (G), and short-wavelength area (B). When the entire surface is charged electrostatically and positively by an electrostatic charging electrode 4, a positive charge is generated on the surface of the layer 3 and a negative charge is induced at the boundary between the layers 2 and 3. Image exposure is carried out while negative discharging is performed by an electrostatic charging electrode 5. Then, the charge in the layer 2 of a white image part W disappears. Then the entire surface is exposed to light L1 transmitted through only the R filter part to form a potential pattern on the surface of the R filter part. This is developed with cyan toner. Then, discharging is performed by the electrostatic charging electrode, and then entire-surface development using light transmitted through the G or R filter part and development are carried out repeatedly to form the polychromatic image. |
