In order to improve a device for retaining an electrical, helical heating conductor (which is embedded in an insulating material moulding, consisting especially of fibre materials) for industrial furnaces, consisting of an anchor which is held in the moulding and engages on the heating conductor, in such a manner that overheating of the moulding and of the heating conductor caused by the retaining device is suppressed, it is proposed that the anchor (4, 4') be arranged in the moulding (1) at a distance from the heating conductor (2), such that it is offset towards the outside (5) of the furnace, and have at least one holder (6), which points towards the inside (3) of the furnace and engages without play under the part of a heating conductor winding which faces the anchor (4, 4'). <IMAGE>
