Surgical light with heat-absorbing elements

A surgical light with annular housing is provided on its lower component (2) with light exit faces (1) arranged at regular distances. The reflectors of the radiator lamps transmit the infra-red range of the spectrum emitted by the lamps; the said reflectors are surrounded on the upper part (3) of the housing by bell-shaped elements (4) which absorb the infra-red radiation on their inside and, on their outer face, transmit it to the surrounding air essentially by convection. The bell-shaped elements (4) are thermally insulated from the rest of the lamp housing (2, 3) because of the high temperatures which they can reach and are protected from being touched by removable protective meshes (6). An optimum airstream for conducting away heat is obtained at the bell-shaped elements (4) by virtue of the annular design with the central opening (5). <IMAGE>
