The ring is for use around a joint sleeve in explosion welding, and comprises two similar ring halves (1,2) fitting together via slots (3). The latter are formed by surfaces (7,8) at an angle alpha to the ring centreline and parallel to each other. Screws (9) move the surfaces in relation to each other and thus vary the circumference of the hole in the ring. The forces holding the halves together pass entirely through these surfaces and do not act on the screws. |
