An apparatus for receiving writing and drawing instruments in a pivotable housing has one or more insertion apertures. A base plate lies against the long sides of the writing instruments and has bearing parts in which the housing can be pivoted. The writing instruments can thus be brought into a standing position which is favourable for access.
