The safety belt arrangement for vehicles, especially cars, has a spring-loaded belt winding device (1) which automatically makes the safety belt (2) adopt a delivery position by winding up the belt and has a spring-loaded winding shaft (3) which receives the belt in the form of a reel (9). In order to prevent damage to the lining facing the interior of the vehicle or to the enamel of the vehicle bodywork by means of a lock insertion clip which is held on the belt, a braking device is provided which prevents the exceeding of a predetermined belt winding speed and takes the form of a brake (5) which is held on the winding shaft (3) and is actuated by means of centrifugal force. <IMAGE>
