Process for producing sweet glycosides by cultivating stevia shoot tips

A process for producing sweet glycosides by cultivating shoot tips of the perennial plant stevia (Stevia rebaudiana BERTONI) which contains the sweet glycosides is described. Rotation or roller cultivation of the shoot tips at a given radiation intensity, given temperature and given speed of rotation induces a shoot primordium. The artificially produced or induced shoot primordium is then propagated. The sweet glycosides, e.g. stevioside, rebaudioside A and the like, are then obtained from the shoot primordium and its seedling plants.
