In order to shorten the time from initiation to firing in the case of firearms, especially competition firearms, the electrical signal which is produced by operation of the trigger tongue of the firearm is applied indirectly or directly to a piezo-element stack (16) which itself acts directly on the impact bolt (14) again. In order to utilise the repeated extension movements of the piezo-element stack (16), a slide apparatus (40) which aggregates the movements can be connected between said elements and the opposing bearing (20).
