New quaternary nitrogen compounds and dyeing processes using these quaternary nitrogen compounds are provided. The quaternary nitrogen compounds may be represented by the formula WHEREIN B represents an acidifying substituent, RI, RII and RIII each represents an alkyl radical, or one of them represents an NH2-group while the remaining radicals are linked together forming five- and six-membered cycloalkyl residues; n is a small whole number and anion represents the negative radical of a monobasic or polybasic acid.
