Prepn. comprises (a) aminating 2-methoxy-1,4-dioxan -2-carbonitrile with ethylene diamine in presence of sodium methoxide in methanol, (b) treating the mixt. with strong acid to give a racemic benzo-1,4-dioxan deriv. of formula (I), its enantiomers and salts.
