<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the title filter for molten steel without any solidification and clogging during the passage of molten steel and without any loss of time in preheating by using an electrically conductive ceramic as a filter, and heating electrically the filter. CONSTITUTION:A filter-fixing frame 12 and a filter 5 are formed with an electrically conductive ceramic contg. at least 20% sufficiently conductive ceramic of an electrically conductive boride such as ZrB2 and TiB2. The filter is a porous structure having 0.5-2mm pore diameter, and a highly corrosion-resistant substance such as Al2O3 and ZrO2 can be added as required. When the inclusion in steel is removed, the molten steel filter 5 is preheated by supplying electricity with electrical heating equipment 11 before the steel is received.</p> |
