PURPOSE:To produce a peptide-type novel amylase-inhibiting substance I-1001C capable of specifically inhibiting the amylase originated from higher animals, by culturing a microbial strain belonging to Streptomyces genus. CONSTITUTION:A microbial strain belonging to Streptomyces genus and capable of producing novel amylase-inhibiting substance I-1001C, e.g. Streptomyces sp. No.291-10 (FERM P-7717), is cultured under aerobic condition at 25-35 deg.C and nearly neutral pH range for about 1-5 days, and the objective amylase- inhibiting substance I-1001C is separated from the culture liquid. |
