RECORDING/REPRODUCING DEVICE OF VIDEO AND SOUND

PURPOSE:To utilize effectively a magnetic tape and to attain recording and reproducing of a video or sound signal alone by making the record of a video signal per unit time with use of a sound-only magnetic head and plural video signal magnetic head longer than that of a sound signal. CONSTITUTION:A rotational magnetic head cylinder 7 is provided with video signal magnetic heads 8 and 9 spaced by 180 deg. and a sound signal magnetic head 10. A video signal is recorded on a video track 14a by the head 9, and by a head 10 a sound is recorded on a sound track 16a, while by the head 8 a video signal is recorded on a video track 15a. The recording is repeated in the same way afterward. In this case, the frequency band of a sound signal is dropped so that data of a half-period can be matched to that of the whole period, and the record of a sound signal per unit time is made shorter than that of a video signal. Thus a magnetic tape 13 can be effectively used.
