<p>The invention relates to an elliptical reflector for a vehicle headlight, which is constructed according to the projection principle. In order to achieve a lateral spreading of the light, the eccentricity of the reflector increases from the vertical axial central section to the horizontal axial central section, the internal focal points of each axial central section and the associated vertices of the elliptical sections thereby produced being congruent. A greater lateral spreading of the light is achieved when light-spreading means which spread the light in the horizontal direction are arranged in the regions of the reflection surface which border the horizontal axial central section. <IMAGE></p> |
