In a machine tool for drilling vent holes in tyre moulds, a drill head 55 has guides 210 for a carriage 230, a motor-driven drill 40 on the carriage, a cylinder 241 for reciprocating the carriage, a first fixed drill bush support 205, and a second drill bush support carried by a carriage 220 guided by guides 210, the drill bush supports being arranged so that at no time during the feed of the drill is it unsupported for more than half of its length.
