Beta- (pyrrolidinocarbonylmethil)-1'-piperazin-4'-yl propiophenones of the formula:- (where R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 = H, halogen or (1-4C) alkoxy) are novel compounds with analgesics, hypotensive, adrenolytic, noradrenolytic, antihistamine and antiserotonium activity. They are prepared by reacting the corresponding acetophenone with N-(pyrrolidinocarbonylmethyl) piperazine in the presence of formaldehyde or trioxymethylene.
