摘要 Zn-Ni alloy electroplated steel strip is produced by passing steel strip through a chloride plating bath contg. soluble Zn and Ni anodes. The bath contains major proportions of ZnCl2 and NiCl2 in a Ni/(Zn+Ni) ratio of 0.08-0.20 and a total molar amt. of Zn+Ni of 1-4 mol/l, together with 6 mol/l KCl and a mol/l NH4Cl such that proviso (A). holds. - The current distribution (A) to the anodes is controlled to satisfy (B) where IZn= current (amps.) fed to Zn anode; INi = current (amps.) fed to Ni anode; x = % Ni in plated deposit; CZn = electrochemical equivalent of Zn = 0.34 mg/C; CNi = electrochemical equivalent of Ni = 0.30 mg/C;ETAZn = anodic efficiency of Zn anode = 95-110%; ETANi = anodic efficiency of Ni anode = 90-100%.
