Ester derivs. of 3-aryloxy 2-hydroxypropyl carbamates, of formula (I), in which R1, R2, and R3 can be various radicals, are made by (a) substitution of the OH gp. in a cpd. of formula (II) by a well-protecting gp.; and (b) reaction of the esterified intermediate with an ammonium salt of the acid used as acylating agent, in a hot, aprotic and anhydrous, polar organic solvent.
