Solid oral pharmaceutical formulation comprises (1) a central cone contg. an antiinflammatory and analgesic agent (I) having ulcerogenic side effects, and (2) a coating layer contg. a cpd. (II) which protects the gastric and duodenal mucosa. - Component (II) is released immediately, and (I) is released later. Pref. the core disintegrated slowly or is a controlled-release bioerodable matrix, while the coating is of the microgranular type which disintegrates rapidly in stomach acid.
