PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium having high sensitivity and high characteristic by providing a back coat layer which contains carbon black having the average single particle size within a specific range, binder resin having specific modulus and specific curing agent and of which the ratio between the non-magnetic powder powder and binder is specified within a specific range to said medium. CONSTITUTION:The back coat layer which contains the carbon black having 0.1-1mu average single particle size and resin having <=150kg/cm<2> 100% modulus at >=50wt% by the total weight of the binder and the diphenyl methane diisocyanate curing agent and of which the weight ratio of the non-magnetic powder and total binder contained in the back layer is 300/100-40/100 is formed on the surface of the non-magnetic substrate on the side opposite from the magnetic layer. The back layer is formed to 1.5-2.5mu dry thickness. The magnetic recording medium having the high sensitivity, good running property, high image quality and good sound quality is thus obtd. |
