PURPOSE:To separate efficiently water used for washing uncoated paint mist into solid paint residue and treated water by using at least one kind of agent for treating circulating water in a wet booth without contg. chlorides and sulfates such as painting booth dust causing corrosion. CONSTITUTION:Polyethyleneimine having 300-100,000 mean mol.wt. is added to circulating water in a wet booth using a water-base paint, and the uncoated paint mist can be easily flocculated and settled or floated. Besides, when the polyethyleneimine is used along with an alkali metal sulfite (Na, K, and Li are included in alkali metals), the uncoated paint mist of an oil-base paint can also be easily flocculated and settled or floated, and the amt. of the chlorine and sulfate ions in the circulating water in the painting booth is hardly increased. |
