Pressure uncoupled spring clutch

The pressure-operated clutch comprises driving and driven halves spring-loaded into engagement. They are uncoupled by a pressure-operated piston. - The piston and the chamber in which it works are contained in the driven half, the chamber being supplied from the pressure source via a rotary joint between the driven half or machine and a stationary pipe. The joint can incorporate a chamber, one of whose walls is formed by a seal thrust into the working position against the moving part by the pressure.
