An optoelectronic panel has at least a liquid crystal display device and a photo-detecting device formed on a common substrate. The liquid crystal display device has at least one liquid crystal element across which a drive signal is applied via a nonlinear element, such as non-single-crystal semiconductor diode with a laminate member of NIN, NN<->N, NP<->N, NIPIN, PIP, PP<->P, PN<->P or PINIP structure. The photo-detecting device has at least one diode of a similar structure. A non-linear element may be connected in series with the photodiode, which diode has a non-single, crystal semiconductor laminate member of NIN, PIP, PIN or NIP.
