PURPOSE:To make a uniform concentration of electrolyte impregnated into separators and improve power absorbing oxygen gas by accumulating a group of plates by retainer method on a horizontal position to the installed plane and by inserting inpermeable partition plates at regular intervals into the plates. CONSTITUTION:Positive plates 1, negative plates 2, and separators 3, as a group of electrodes, are accumulated alternately on a horizontal position to the bottom plane of the battery. There are inserted partition plates 7, which are composed of materials impermeable to electrolyte. Electrolyte is impregnated into the separators 3 placed horizontally, without non-uniform concentration caused by gravity. Insertion of partition plates 7 prevents electrolyte from having a non-uniform concentration when many plates being accumulated horizontally to obtain a big capacity, and therefore enabling applicability to the large power type. |
