PURPOSE:To accurately secure the stopping position of a magnetic card in a magnetic card recorder and reproducing device, by causing a magnetic head or carriage holding the magnetic head to act to a stopping member so as to shunt the member from a magnetic card running path. CONSTITUTION:A stopping member 13 which is held under a condition where it can rotate freely around a shaft 7 and is forced in the clockwise direction by a spring 15, is provided in the main body of this device. The stopping member 13 is provided with a cam surface 13a which contacts with the surface 19a of a carriage 19. On the other hand, the magnetic card contacting surface 13b of the stopping member 13 is projected into a magnetic card running path 20 by means of the spring 15 and, when a magnetic card 1 reaches the magnetic card contacting surface 13b of the member 13, the position of the magnetic card 1 is detected by a detecting sensor and a magnetic card carrying motor 4 is stopped. The the position of the magnetic card 1 in the main body of this device is determined. |
