PURPOSE:To provide a pigment which has excellent water repellency, smoothness, smeadability, and a moisturizing effect and does not irritate the skin, by allowing an acylated peptide salt to be orientated on and adsorbed by the surface of an (extender) pigment. CONSTITUTION:0.3-10wt% water-soluble salt of an acylated peptide is dissolved in a dispersion of an (extender) pigment in water. 0.5-5 equivalents (per equivalent of acylated peptide) of an ag. soln. cont. 1-30% soluble salt of, e.g., Al, Mg, Ca, Zn, Zr or Si is added thereto to allow a water-insoluble metal salt of the acylated peptide of the formula (wherein RCO is a residue of capric, lauric, myristic, palmitic, stearic or oleic acid) to be orientated on and adsorbed by the surface of the (extender) pigment. The resulting product is dehydrated and dried at 80-120 deg.C. |
