Before forming the groove (5) between two clamps (1, 2), the strip of material (3) is provided with a transverse notch (8) at the site where the groove head is intended to be formed. The notch allows to decrease the force (Fk) and the pressure (Pk) required to fold the material. Furthermore, said notch decreases the corrosion sensitivity of the groove head (7).
