In the room-heating unit, a blower (2) is arranged below a radiator (1) and above the blower an electric heating device (3) is integrated in the radiator, which device consists of heating rods (8, 9) arranged between the heating pipes (4) of the radiator (1). The blower housing (10) of the blower (2) is arranged rotatably and can be turned through an angle of approximately 90 DEG with the aid of a lever (11). When the radiator (1) is heated with a heating medium, the blower (2) delivers an airflow from the bottom to the top between the pipes (4) of the radiator (1). For the exclusive operation of the electric heating device (3), the direction of the airflow is reversed and to this end the blower housing (10) is turned so that the air inlet opening (12) of the blower housing (10) is situated on the underside of the radiator (1) below the electric heating device (3). The air heated by the electric heating device (3) thus passes into the room on the shortest path instead of, in the case of the reversed flow direction, delivering the heat to the cold radiator (1). <IMAGE>
