PURPOSE:To obtain a color photosensitive material which is made higher in sensitivity and contrast by incorporating at least one kind of compd. which can react with sulfite ions into a color developing soln. CONSTITUTION:The compd. (sulfite scavenger) which can react with the sulfite ions is extremely effective even in the case of not contg. a compd. which releases a mercapto development restrainer. The sulfite scavenger inhibits the black and white development induced by hydroxyl amine and improves the coloration efficiency by reacting with the hydroxyl amine added frequently in order to improve preservativeness into the color developing soln. and therefore said scavenger provides a preferable effect in the case of processing with the color developing soln. contg. hydroxyl amine. Since this sulfite scavenger captures the iodine ions existing in the developing soln., said scavenger is effective as well in the case of processing with the color developing soln. (including exhausted developing soln.) contg. the iodine ions. The compd. which can react with the sulfite ions is expressed by formula I or II. |
