PURPOSE:To improve operability at the time of manual paper feeding by measuring the length of transfer paper at the time of manual paper feeding, and making proper sequence control in forming picture according to the result of measurement. CONSTITUTION:A manual feeding guide 201 moves in the direction of arrow mark X and cuts off between a photosensor 203 and a lamp 202, and the photosensor 203 as a detecting device can detect that manual paper feeding is selected by the state of cut off. When a sheet of transfer paper P is supplied on the transfer guide 303 in the direction of arrow mark Y and comes under a lever 304, the lever 304 rotates clockwise, and light from light emitting sections of photointerrupters 3-6 is not cut off and received by a light receiving section. When the transfer paper P passes completely under the lever 304, the light from the light emitting section of the photointerrupter 306 is cut off again. Presence of the transfer paper P under the lever 304 can be detected by these actions. A the transfer paper P is fed at a fixed carrying speed, the length of the transfer paper P can be measured by measuring a time in which the transfer paper is under the lever 304. |
