PURPOSE:To form images which can be read by the fingers of a blind person by a method in which an expandible recording material is lapped with a thermal transfer sheet, a thermal pattern corresponding to an image signal is formed on the sheet, they are separated from each other to form an ink image in the expandible layer of the recording material, and the expandible layer is expanded to form an uneven pattern. CONSTITUTION:An expandible recording material 2 having a thermally expandible layer 2A on its supporter 2B is lapped with a thermal transfer sheet 4 having an ink layer 4A with dispersed infrared rays absorptive fine powder on its supporter 4B in such a way as to face the expandible layer 2A with the ink layer 4A. A thermal head 5 to be heated according to an image signal is pressingly contacted with the supporter 4B of the sheet 4 to give a thermal pattern corresponding to the image signal to the sheet 4. The sheet 4 is then separated from the recording material 2 to form an ink image corresponding to the image signal on the layer 2A. Afterwards, infrared rays are irradiated onto the recording material 2 by an infrared lamp 9 to expand the layer 2A under the inked portion. An uneven pattern 10 corresponding to the image signal can thereby be formed on the recording material 2 to form an aimed image. |
