PURPOSE:To maintain fixing capability of a contact member, to simplify constitution and to reduce production cost by making the contact member that contacts the outer peripheral face of a fixing roller separate from the roller for a fixed period by a single driving source. CONSTITUTION:When starting copying operation, a lower casing 7 is raised, and a pressure roller 4 is press-contacted to a fixing roller. The fixing roller 3 is heated sufficiently, and its surface temperature goes to normally 150-190 deg.C. Rotating of a cam driving shaft 14 and the fixing roller 3 is started by a starting signal of copying process. Then, eccentric cams 16, 18 fixed to the cam driving shaft 14 rotate, and the rotation of cam driving shaft 14 is stopped by turning a cam detecting switch 17 on. At this time, by making an elevating lever 13 to an ascending state by the action of the eccentric cam 18, brush 10, blade 12 and a separating claw 11 so far released from pressure are elastically press-contacted respectively to the outer peripheral face of the fixing roller 3 to scrape off toner adhered on the surface of the fixing roller 3 and prevent coiling and offset developing of the copying machine. |
