MANUFACTURING METHOD OF FLAT STEEL INGOT

PURPOSE:To obtain a flat steel ingot having no inverse V segregation and porosity by rotating a casting mold which has a partition wall in parallel with the wall surface past the central part of the mold and is provided with heat insulating plates on the wall surfaces perpendicular to the partition wall around the central part of the partition wall during the solidifying process of a molten steel. CONSTITUTION:The partition wall 2 made of refractories passing through the central part of the casting mold 4 having a rectangular section is provided to said mold and the heat insulating plates on the inside wall surface 4b perpendicular to the wall 2 to constitute the casting mold 4. The molten steel 1 is poured into the mold 4 closed with a riser 5 and the mold 4 is rotated around the central part of the wall 2 during the solidifying stage of the steel 1. The production of the flat steel ingot having the uniform structure without the inverse V segregation and porosity is thus made possible.
