PURPOSE:To prevent warpage and burning due to cutting from being produced by providing a press roller for a workpiece on a cutting machine, rolling the workpiece by about 90 deg. when the workpiece is cut by a fraction of about 2/3, and further cutting it. CONSTITUTION:A press roller 7 is supported on a guide bar mounted on a roller table 3 so as to move in a direction of P, and is adapted to permit a press rolling arm 12 to be moved in a direction of U. A workpiece W is fixed on the table 3 by downward press of the arm 12, and cut out to about 2/3 thereof by means of a rotary whetstone 5. Hereupon, a base part 9 is pushed in the direction of P to roll the workpiece W by about 90 deg. with the side of the arm 12, and then a portion of the workpiece not yet cut is cut out to finish the cutting operation. |
